Harpic and News18 have joined forces to host an impactful event on April 7, 2023, in honor of World Health Day, with a focus on elevating sanitation and hygiene standards across India. Aligned with the World Health Organization’s ‘Health for All’ initiative, the program underscores the vital role that cleanliness and access to toilets play in the establishment of a healthy society.
The ‘Cleanliness and Water Initiative’ is dedicated to making sanitation accessible to all, regardless of gender, ability, caste, or class. The live event will be broadcast on CNN News18 and will feature Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, along with renowned personalities such as Sania Mirza, Shilpa Shetty, and Kajal Aggarwal, who will stress the crucial link between health and sanitation.
With a goal to raise public awareness about the importance of clean and accessible toilets, the campaign also aims to inspire individuals and communities to work together to create a healthier and more hygienic society for all. Since its inception in 2019, the joint campaign by Network18 and Harpic has successfully addressed pressing water and sanitation issues, and now focuses on catalyzing behavioral change across India to ensure access to clean and safe toilets for everyone.
The World Health Day event will emphasize our collective responsibility to champion sanitation and showcase various projects and their impact as part of the ‘Cleanliness and Water Initiative.’ By involving influential leaders from various fields, the campaign has successfully mobilized public opinion and support for better sanitation and hygiene practices in India.
